Our history
Bridgetown Winery began with a chance encounter and a bold leap of faith. After a year of adventure in New Zealand, we returned to Western Australia searching for our next chapter. When we stumbled upon a small vineyard in the Blackwood Valley, something just felt right.
This was it.
With no formal background in winemaking — only a deep love for good wine and a desire to live close to nature — we decided to take the plunge.
From the start, our vision was clear: to craft honest, small-batch wines with minimal intervention, respecting the land that makes it all possible. Every step, from handpicking the grapes to using sustainable practices, reflects our belief that great wine starts in the vineyard.

Bridgetown Winery is also built on the dedication of those who came before. Lyn and Margaret, the previous custodians of the vineyard, poured years of care into these vines, and their legacy remains at the heart of what we do. Today, every bottle we produce carries that story—a blend of adventure, passion, and a deep respect for this land we’re lucky to call home.

Meet your vintners, Brayden and Tayla
We’ve always had a passion for adventure and embracing the unknown—so when we saw Bridgetown Winery for sale, we thought, wine not? With absolutely no experience in winemaking or viticulture, we jumped headfirst into our biggest challenge yet.
In 2021, after a year of working and traveling across New Zealand, we became the proud stewards of this vineyard, driven by a simple goal: to craft small-batch, handmade boutique wines with sustainability, tradition, and minimal intervention at heart.
Tayla’s background in horticulture and hospitality blends a love for people and plants, while Brayden, an electrician by trade, has spent years working across the Pilbara and New Zealand, always drawn to the outdoors. Together, we also share a deep passion for breathwork and movement—Brayden as a breathwork and cold exposure coach, and Tayla as a yoga instructor.
More than anything, we are here to honor the legacy of Lyn and Margaret, the original owners, by continuing their tradition of crafting premium, small-batch wines made right here on the property.

Continuing our mission for caring for the land we're on...
The Red-Tailed Black Cockatoo was the first bird to greet us when we arrived—and it’s been part of our story ever since. Now it’s front and centre in our logo, a nod to the wild beauty of this place and the deep connection we feel to the land.
These incredible birds are native to the region and a daily reminder of why we’re here: to care for the country, tread lightly, and give back where we can. Whether it’s through sustainable farming, low-intervention winemaking or just doing things the right way, we’re all about working with nature, not against it.
